  • Cook Time: 25 minutes
  • Total Time: 40 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Use paper liners to line a 12-cup muffin tin.
  • Whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  • To the dry ingredients, add the vegetable oil, vanilla extract, vinegar, and water.
  • Stir until thoroughly combined.
  • Fill each muffin cup about two-thirds of the way full with the batter.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into a cupcake comes out clean.
  • Remove from oven and set aside to cool completely before frosting.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream butter with an electric mixer until creamy.
  • Mix in the confectioners' sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla extract gradually until smooth and creamy.
  • Fill a piping bag with a large tip with frosting and pipe it onto cooled cupcakes.
  • Sprinkle with sprinkles and serve.
