Chocolate Cupcake with Dark Chocolate Icing Recipe

  • Total Time: 40 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and white vinegar.
  • Mix thoroughly until the batter is smooth.
  • Cupcake liners should be used to line a muffin tin.
  • Fill each liner halfway with batter.
  • Bake the cupcakes for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
  • Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before serving.
  • Melt the dark chocolate chips and heavy cream in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water for the icing.
  • Stir the chocolate until it is completely melted and smooth.
  • Remove from the heat and set aside for 5-10 minutes to cool.
  • Spread the chocolate icing over the cupcakes with a spoon or a piping bag.
  • Allow the icing to set for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
