Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Recipe

The cream cheese frosting on these moist and fluffy Red Velvet Cupcakes is creamy and tangy. Ideal for special occasions or as a tasty treat.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  • (175 degrees C).
  • Cupcake liners should be used to line a muffin tin.
  • Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  • Whisk together the vegetable oil, eggs, cocoa powder, food coloring, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
  • Mix in the dry ingredients gradually, alternating with the buttermilk, until the batter is smooth.
  • Fill the prepared cupcake liners about 2/3 full with the batter.
  • Bake the cupcakes for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
  • Allow the cupcakes to cool completely after removing them from the oven.
  • To make the cream cheese frosting, cream the cream cheese and butter together until creamy.
  • Incorporate the confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract, and milk gradually until the frosting is smooth and spreadable.
  • Cream cheese frosting should be used to frost the cooled cupcakes.
