Oreo Chocolate Cupcakes Recipe

These Oreo Chocolate Cupcakes are the ideal blend of chocolate and cookies and cream. They're moist and rich, and they're topped with a whole Oreo cookie for a special treat. They're ideal for any occasion and are certain to impress.

Ingredients

• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
• 1 package oreo cookies
• 1/2 cup hot water
• 1/2 cup vegetable oil
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 3 eggs
• 1 box chocolate cake mix
• 1/2 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)

Time Needed

• Prep Time: 15 minutes
• Cook Time: 20 minutes
• Total Time: 35 minutes

Instructions

• Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
• Use paper liners to line 24 muffin cups.
• Set aside 12 crushed Oreo cookies.
• In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, cocoa powder, buttermilk, oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt.
• Incorporate the hot water until well combined.
• Fold in the chocolate chips and Oreo cookie crumbs.
• Fill the prepared muffin cups about 2/3 full with the batter.
• Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.
• Allow the cupcakes to cool for 5 minutes in the pan before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
• Once the cupcakes have cooled completely, top each with an entire Oreo cookie.
